A Fun...Fun....Fun... PLACE!
Conowingo Dam Reservoir can be described as a True Fishery. A place where many different species of fish can be caught. Hybrid Stripers, LM Bass, Smallies, bluegills, Warmouths, sunnies, catfish, pike, and the Conowingo Monster (Which unfortunately broke me OFF Twice). I can truly say this place is pretty awesome. Whether you like to catch numbers of fish, Quality in the size of fish, or catching something that you can talk about later in the day, the Conowingo Dam definitely lived up to its Billing.
What a way to end SJHT 2017 Regular Season finale.
Now that our 17th and Final Regular season event is over, anglers can begin focusing on our 2017 SJHT Bass Classic which will be held in approx. 3 weeks.
Conowingo AM Launch.
Before I forget.... Shout outs to the Conowingo Boat Ramp attendants and staff for making our weigh-in somewhat smooth and Drama free. Thanks once again Shawn.
Back to business.
Give a big Congrats and shout out to this years SJHT 2017 Angler of the Year and raising the standards of fishing till the very end.
On a run that has not been witnessed in Club History, the Fu Man has been on a hot winning streak that parallels the likes of KVD and some of the Best in the Bass Fishing Community.
Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Jackson *Momma... I'm going to Disney World!!! F. for taking 1st place with 3 Bass weighing 5.19lbs. 2nd Place was won by the Defending 2016 AOY Champion Rob *I gave it my Best* M. with 3 Bass going 4.23lbs. 3rd Place was this years 2017 Rookie of the Year Sam *Big Bass Man* F. with 3 Bass going 3.98lbs. Summary: I guess the FU Train is running optimally at High Speed. What can one say? Congrats! Thank you for kicking all of our A**es. LOL!!! Thank you for showing us All of Getting her Done!! Way to come back with Vengence during the course of the 2017 Season. I salute you my friend. Rob way to hang in there over the last month. You competed with class and till the very end. This tidal wave that started over a month ago has been completed. Well Done Fu!
All in all [b]11 out of 12 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 29 Bass caught giving way to a total of 36.19lbs. There were a record setting 8 Limits caught.. The avg. per lb bass was 1.25lbs. There were a total of 2 Dead bass and the Miscellaneous winner was 1.05lb catfish
Overall, CONOWINGO DAM RESV. provided an experience where the combination of Resv. water and tidal water down below the dam and its flows can regulate the fishing activity and key locations in finding those fish. The smallies were Super aggressive. The ConoWingo Monster which broke me off TWICE....never to have been ID still has me shaking my head. My Co-Angler can attest to the fact that I had him on good but the Monster ended up winning out. Unreal!
The Tape of the Tape is indicative of the many Bass and Limits caught on this day. The Largemouth Bass weights are on the lower end however for those that have fished this place, there are some GIANT Bass in this fishery. Like with anything, you have to be in the right spot....at the right times!
Next up is SJHT 2 Day Bass Classic to be held on UNION LAKE AND NEWTON LAKE in approx. 3 weeks.
Tightlines,
