----------------------------------------------
The Gods said, "Let there be Sun and Hot weather without any threat of snow, sleet, or dropping Air Temps" and So we wore our shorts and T-Shirts today.
I think as a whole, we can attest to the erratic weather over the last month or so. Today was just a mild taste of what's to come in the next 2 weeks.
D.O.D has always been a tough place to fish....no less get a limit with weight.
Today, 15 SJHT members came out to battle and remove some of the skunk that has settled upon us as of late. With no threat of rain...or too much wind or anything under the sun, we came to catch Bill Leach''s Mobey Dick!!!!
Without further adieu....Please give a big shout out to Matt *I hate still hate D.O.D.* R. for taking 1st place and Lunker with 2 Bass weighing 8.16lbs. Matt's Lunker went an enormous 5.67lbs.. 2nd Place was won by Jackson *You Can't Touch This! Fu. . with 3 Bass going 7.79lbs. Jackson's Lunker went an impressive 4.98lbs. 3rd Place was won by David S. with 2 Bass weighing 5.04lbs. Dave's Lunker went 3.08lbs. Miscellaneous was won by Jackson*Sunnies need Love too! Fu. with a .19lb Sunni .
D.O.D. LAKE TALE OF THE TAPE:

Brian's Bag of Bass:
Bill's Bag of Bass
Al's Mother Load:
At Launch and weigh in:
Parking Lot debris
Needles and Drug Parapanellia
See can you see the 2 needles on the ground:
Summary: Water temps are getting warm and more stable. Today, felt like the 1st 2018 regular season Opening Day of the season, However we know Mother Nature can throw us a curveball. Shout outs to all of the SJHT Anglers that came out today. For the Record, 9 out of 15 Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 16 Bass caught overall giving way to a total of 33.26lbs. That gave each Bass an avg. of 2.08lbs. Matt's Lunkers set a new 2018 Lunker record so lets see how long it stands.
[b]Side Note: The images of Needles and drug paranellia should concern us all when it's left at the boat ramp or there make shift Fire pit. I capture these images to bring light on the dangers anglers, kids, friends, and just innocent bystanders may encounter in case they want to wet there feet or take a dip in the water. These hard to see dangers can have lasting impacts on a persons health and well being. I'm gonna try an elevate this issue to Chris Smith and the Division of Fisheries Land Management. Sorry to digress but I felt there was a need to shed some light on the issues going on at D.O.D. around the boat ramp and Parking Lot areas.
Congrats once again to Matt R. on the win and the rest of the anglers.
Next up is LUMS Pond in 2 Weeks.
Tightlines,

A quick update..
I would like to thank the NJ fish and Wildlife and Bureau of Land and Management for quickly responding to our request regarding last weeks and the previous weeks findings at D.O.D. lake regarding debris, trash, drug paraphernalia, needles, and the parking lot conditions identified in my last report.
Today, me and Big Fred met with Philly Enquirer reporter Kevin Riordan to discuss some of our concerns as anglers, local citizen's, and just concerned individuals regarding trying to make others aware of some of the hidden dangers at some of our WMA bodies of waters. A Big Thank You goes out to Jason Hearon of the Bureau of Land Management, Capt. Scott Risher of the law enforcement side of the Conservation Officers, Resident fellow angler and NJ fishery Biologist Chris Smith, the crew who actually did the heavy lifting, and Philly columnist Kevin Riordan who will be reporting the story in this coming Sunday Philadelphia Enquirer.
Here are some of the After pictures.
A nice change from like 5 days ago. Not sure how long it will last, but we spoke and they have listened collectively. We all have the power to impact change. It may seem small at first but hopefully it will catch on that someone gives a damn and others will not ruin things for the masses.
