SJBCA Meeting Notes Wed. 02-20-2019

Good morning SJHT members and friends,

Last week, we had approx. 11 Bass Clubs reps in attendance. This meeting was to vote on the 2019 Bass Bowl Location, Award Plaques for the Angler Excellence, Youth Activity, and 2018 Bass Bowl Winners.

SJBCA Officers and Bass Clubs in attendance:

* Financial report- Balance of $1,304.48 after expenses related to the$375.00 Budgeted for Anglers Award Excellence and $40.00 of deposits.

- Clubs should have recieved there Delaware River and NorthEast River Permits.
- Newton Lake Dredge tentatively not to begin till July 1, 2019 however the RFQ is still out on the street. At this rate, it probably won't be till 2020...lol

- April 27- Hook Em' Early; Aug 8th-10th, 2019 Delaware River Event.
* NJ Fish and Game Annual 2019 Fisheries Forum up at Batso Village up at Wharton State Park to be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019. Always very formative (See Notes\pics in separate thread once posted).
* 1 SJBCA club has a conflict with a Non-SJBCA member affiliated club fishing Manasquan Reservior later in the year.

Committee Reports:
Audit Committee- 2018 committee to include: John Sullivan, Mike Riordan, and Robert Jack
* Will be conducted at March 20, 2019

Scholarship Committee:
- MaryAnne Franchetta, Mike Riordan, and Me.
- Updated 2019 Official Scholarship Letters and Emails to be posted on the SJBCA website.
* Forwarded Email version of the Letters, Scholarship Application and Guidelines to High School Guidance Counselors\Science Teachers in 9 Central\South Jersey Counties in which our members reside or we fish in. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware High Schools Seniors are elegible.
* As of Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, all correspondences have been sent out with a deadline of Wed. May 1, 2019.
* Current Database POC's are always changing and new plans of action will have to be formulated for future updates.


[b]Flea Market Committee:
Jake Haas, Al Franchetta, and Stu Cohen
* Final planning for Fisherman's Flea Market. 36 Tables Rented so far. 34 Paid; 3 Free;
* Approve any expenses.

* Still Requesting each member club donate 3 Freshwater Lures and 3 Salt water lures to go into this years tackle box. It will be accepted at the door for those planning to attend. Let me know in advance.

CLUB Business:
* Weigh-In Trailer- Updates
- Brian Camp estimated cost of $2,000.00 to get trailer wrapped. Possibly take 3-4 Days to Do the Job.
Dimensions 10x6x6; 3x6 in the Front. Wants to fund via River West All Weather Jacket Raffle. 1 Tix=$5; 3 Tix=$10


Youth Fishing Activities:
* Nothing New to Report.

* Lake and Ramp Updates
- Lake Audrey Liming Project Postponed till Further Notice. Lee W. informed Fred that the State will have contractors distribute staged lime in key points around the lake. This was decided before anyone showed up on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 to volunteer there time and boats to distribute Lime throughout the Lake.

Association Business:
Old Business:
* Vote on Nominated locations for the Bass Bowl.
Conowingo won with (5); Hopatcong (3); Pocomoke (1); Northeast (1); Nanticoke (1)
* Change Angler Excellence Awards by dropping 6 Bass by 2 Anglers and adding 3 Bass by two Anglers and a Lunker length award for paper tournaments.

New Business:
* Review Annual Budget
* Approve expenses for Flea Market hall rental.[/b]

Some of the items on the agenda will be:
* Rescheduled Presentation of plaques to 2018 Fishing Excellence Award Winners, Youth Activity Award winners, & 2018 Bass Bowl Winners.

* Review the fisherman's Flea Market, plan for SJBCA June Open Buddy Tournament and Hold drawing for paid dues for the next year. (From among clubs who donated lures towards the Flea Market tackle box raffle.)

Any SJHT member is welcome to attend, meet up, or travel down with me to the monthly SJBCA meetings. The inner and outer workings is open to anyone interested in learning more about these meetings.

Note: 2018 SJBCA Winning Bass Bowl Team Members- Save the Date to come on Wed. March. 20, 2019 at 8pm to receive your SJBCA/SJHT Bass Bowl Champions Plaque down at the 4th Ward Club-House. Rob M. also won the 3 Bass Category for Heaviest Limit down on the Northeast River.
