"To be or not to be" was the question everyone was asking...as the rain began just as most were arriving at Union Lake today.
Today, 18 SJHT members and 1 guest (White Mike Sr.) came out to battle the elements that only Fredjr could predict!!! Mother nature did not disappoint.
What could only be described as crappy weather.... I had to try to catch one. This is for you Reeldeal and fredjr. This was a nice fatty!!
Ok..enough of my adventures!!! A big congratulations goes out to 2nd year member Brian "BassHopper" Suthard for taking 1st place with 2 Largemouths and 1 Huge Smallie going a total of 7.66lbs. So in summary, there were 14 Bass caught with a couple of nice smallies. Many of the anglers caught the majority of there fish within the first hour of the tournament. Word on the street, BassHopper was culling fish (of the smallie variety) by 9am. The bass appeared scattered throughout the water column not really relating to any particular wood or points. Basically as Tboe would say, just cast your lure and reel really quickly back to the boat!!! LOL!!! Congrats to all that came out to brave the elements. I didn't expect such a good turnout but nothing is better than closing the 1st part of the Bass season on a high note. BassHopper did the same thing last year at East Creek lake!!!
Hoping to do some leisure fishing up at Shinners Creme Puff during the off period!!!
Tightlines and see you guys\gals back on Cooper River Sat. June. 20, 2009.
