SJBCA Meeting Notes Wed. 01-21-2015
BigNasty06
I'm finally back from San Fran and Dallas/Fort Worth, Tx. I see just in time for major snow storm eh?

Here is a quick update from last weeks meeting down at the SJBCA Monthly Wednesday meeting held down near Parvin SP at the 4th Ward Clubhouse. My apologies for the semi-late postings but better late than never. LOL!!!!

Good daySJHT members and guest.

On Wednesday night January 21st, 2015 I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the 4th Ward Clubhouse...

Because the weather conditions were bad in some areas of South Jersey last night, we had a relatively low turnout (ten clubs) for our member meeting. I'm providing some highlights of the meeting for those who weren't able to make it. (You'll receive the usual detailed minutes of the meeting from secretary Al Franchetta, along with the February meeting agenda, next month.)

* For our annual Fishermen's Flea Market on March 7, we already have 22 tables & 1 outside spot paid for. More details on being a vendor at this event or attending it as a customer can be found on our website at www.sjbca.org/fle... .

* 1st VP Joe Hoban, Secretary Al Franchetta and Director 2 Mike Graham were re-elected. Stu Cohen was elected Treasurer. Joe Franzwa was nominated to fill the vacant Tournament Director spot. Rashawn Lewis and Coty Camp were nominated to fill the vacant Director 1 spot. An election will be held at the February meeting for the Director 1 spot.

* The winners of the annual Youth Activity Award and Fishing Excellence Awards were announced. They will be posted soon in the Annual Awards section of the SJBCA website. Plaques will be awarded to the winners at the February member meeting.

* Nominations were taken for the location of the 2015 Bass Bowl. The nominated locations are: Susquehanna Flats (North East River, Anchor Marina), Md; Union Lake; Beltzville Lake, Pa; and Delaware River (Gloucester ramp). A vote on the location will be conducted at the February member meeting.

* In honor of two distinguished executive board members who recently passed away, our annual college scholarship was renamed the "Carmen Bersani Memorial Scholarship" and our annual Union Lake open buddy tournament was renamed the "Steve Steinmetz Memorial".

* Member club dues of $20 are payable by the end of January. Due to the weather situation for last evening's meeting, we agreed to delay the imposition of the $5 late fee until after the date of the February meeting. Dues must be paid by February 18 or the late fee will be applied. Contact me if you need the mailing address of the new treasurer.

* "Conflict List", For this year we are indicating on the Conflict List (for WMA tournaments) whether the club has submitted their WMA tournament report to Chris Smith. Clubs need to cc me on the reports they submit to Chris Smith or otherwise let me know that the report has been submitted. Any club that did not submit any or all of their reports for 2014 will be contacted about that unless you get them submitted to Chris in the very near future.

* We did not recover from Steve Steinmetz's family any SJBCA items that he had. Any club that donated lures towards this year's tackle box raffles at the flea market can still get credit for their donation by informing Coty Camp, who is now coordinating those raffles. We're using the "honor system" for this. This all means we are badly in need of freshwater & saltwater lures & tackle (and two new tackle boxes) for these two raffles. Any help you guys can provide will be appreciated. Also, for the "how many bobbers in the jug" 50/50 raffle that Steve had been coordinating, we'll be starting this raffle over again from scratch. Anyone who bought a ticket can exchange their stub for a new ticket when we reorganize this raffle. Thanks for your understanding.

Member Turnout was decent with 10 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.

Would like to have some club feedback on this years 2015 SJBCA Bass Bowl:

These are the options to which to choose from:
1. Susquehanna Flats (North East River, Anchor Marina), Md;
2. Union Lake;
3. Beltzville Lake, Pa;
4. Delaware River (Gloucester ramp)

Please post your choice\picks on this thread by Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 by 8pm.

I will tally your votes\picks and present to the SJBCA that next day on Wed. February 18, 2015 monthly meeting.

Second Key Point:
Regarding 3 Freshwater & 3 Saltwater Lure Donations.

Anyone having any Terminal Freshwater and\or Saltwater lures\tackle they wish to donate, please let me know via a post here or just text me.

Typically, I pick up from Walmart some 3oz~5oz sinkers, High-Low Riggs, and Snelled 3/0 Saltwater Hooks for the saltwater donation. On the Freshwater side, I generally throw in from my own stash some plastic lures, some Gamma hooks, and some monofiilament.

Any and all donations are appreciated, especially since the passing of Mr. Steve Steinmetz (previous organizer and Tourney Directro for the SJBCA).

Thanks in advance.

So here is the tally so far:

1. Susquehanna Flats (North East River, Anchor Marina), Md; - 1 Votes
2. Union Lake; - 0 Votes
3. Beltzville Lake, Pa; - 6 Votes
4. Delaware River (Gloucester ramp)- 2 Votes

-----------------------------------------------
So if my math is correct, it looks like we have Beltzville as our pick.

Thanks for your input.
