As Classical Singer Sam Cooke would say, "It's been a Long Time Coming"

https://www.youtu...EBlaMOmKV4

No matter how young or old, I believe all songs has there place and moment in time but some never die. This song hit home for me as I had a little scare before our Launch in the parking lot. I'll elaborate a bit later.

As SJHT wrapped up there 8th Tournament of the 2017 Season down on the Sassafras River, Duffy's Marina10 of our finest members came out to battle in search of the Muffin Toppers and Big Belly Fishy's. The weather, water temps, and that important grass was pretty abundent in the right spots. Having launched about 5 minutes later than scheduled due to me having light headiness and a feeling of dizzyness, and a little heart palpatation, I managed to walk down to the boat gingerly and get the other anglers off safe and sound. The plan was to fish close by and not run outside of the Sassafras just in case I really did pass out. I believe signs and relevations come in all different forms and today was mine. Not feeling the greatest all of a sudden before launch, I kept up a nice front and confidence that today was going to be an epic day and indeed it was.

I had my 3 Bass Limit by 7:30am and would have had a 5 Bag limit by 8:00AM with all solid keepers.

Summary: Today was one of those days that felt like nothing could go wrong, but ironically I lost my first 2 bites due to a loose drag setting. I mean the [b]2nd lost was just as big if not bigger than my lunker. This kind of happen in front of a Connowingo Bass Master Tournament angler today during our conversations. At that moment, I knew they were there. All in all 8 out of 10 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 16 Bass caught giving way to a total of 47.27lbs. That gave way to a 2.95lb per bass. I had a .50lb weight penalty due to my Lunker nearly choking on the crankbait and eventually subcoming later in the day. I really tried to save him S**T happens. There were 2 Limits caught with 4 Anglers catching at least 2 Bass.

Overall, the Sassafras River was definitely putting out the big girls although one can tell by there Tail action and images that they appear to be spawning. What can I say? Today I actually felt like a Elite Bass Master Angler and then I woke up and realized where I was. LOL!!!

I will say that during the Tournament, I felt better and did not have a relapse of what happened earlier in the parking lot. You can bet your butt that I will be following up with a Doctors visit because this has never happen to me before nor do I have history of anything like this. Maybe it was a Relevation of how my day on the water was going to be or maybe it was the shirt. LOL!!!

Even heading home....this guys boat stays clean....LOL!!

I made it home but won't know what kind of damage there is until hopefully later today. Don't think its shifting out of 2nd is what's going on.

Thanks to everybody for stopping and to Dan for jumping in giving it a test ride to suggest on how I can get home. I know this has been said many times, but we have a great group of guys in this club.

BigNasty06
Glad you made it home safely and hopefully the repair won't be too costly.

I'm coming up on 249.5K miles on mine and know it's just a matter in time before I'll be looking for a replacement.

Note: Glad Dan, Trapper, Brian and the rest of the crew was there to at least assist. If someone feels a need for a tow, give me a call ASAP as I get you at least 200 miles for free. In most cases, it will be via a flat bed truck.
Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks again fellas and this was my scratch pad in determining who had to go. Lol. Luv me some Wawa!

Not a napkin but more like a remodeling thank you coupon booklet that I was given and stuffed into my bag that morning.

Thanks Dan. Unfortunately, after 2 different estimates with both coming to the conclusion that a rebuilt trans was needed, along with some other pressing issues, I decided to put my girl down. I loved that truck, but couldnt justify putting another 3 - 4k into her.

Leased a 2017 RAM 1500 and traded my girl in. Never felt so guilty. Came down to a Tacoma or the 1500 but Dodge was just a much better deal and they gave me more for the Hummer. So, Im a Dodge guy for the next 36 months or 45,000 miles, lol.

Best of luck with the new 2017 RAM 1500 Rob. It sucks that when it comes down to the numbers, we have to sometimes cut our vehicles loose. Hopefully, the dealer ate most of what was stilled owed on it.

I'm approx. at 249.5K and I know my time will come to.

Sorry to hear Rob. Good luck with the Ram. My buddy just bought one and it seems like a nice vehicle.

As luck would have it, the WaWa where I pick up the Coupon booklet and then proceeded to record my cull weights was robbed yesterday with the assailant catching a Can of Whoop Arse in the process...

Can't make this stuff up....
