Welcome to SJHT 9th Regular Season Bass Tournament.

As SJHT re-opened there NJ Bass Season, 15 of our finest members came out to battle in search of the Big Girls.

Word on the street was that the weather forecast was unstable and calling for sporatic rain showers with the possibility of Thunderstorms. Fortunately, outside a little shower here and there, I believe the Thunderstorm held off.

Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Layne *Basser995* E. for taking 1st place and Lunker with 3 Bass weighing 9.69lbs. Layne's Lunker went 3.94lbs. 2nd Place was won by Rob *Ram1212* with 3 Bass going 8.08lbs. 3rd Place was Bob Van S. with 3 Bass going 6.19lbs.

Congrats to all and way to bring some impressive limits to the scales!

Summary: Saturday was a day where unfortunately I was unable to be there in person, but I was there in spirit.

Judging by the Mercer Tale of the Tape, anglers were kept busy catching bass. There were plenty sub par 12" Bass caught.

All in all [b]15 out of 10 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 28 Bass caught giving way to a total of 57.86lbs. That gave way to a 2.07lb per bass. There was a respectable 7 Limits caught with 3 Anglers catching at least 2 Bass.

Overall, the Mercer Lake proved once again that the Bass population was plentiful. After the long spawn season, it
s nice to be fishing back in our back waters. Congrats once again to Layne, Rob, and Bob for doing your things.

Way to run a smooth event Joe Reed and Rob.

Next up is Cooper River Park in a week.

Thanks again to all.

Tightlines,

Great job everyone. I probably culled 5-6 times but couldn't get a big fish. Prob culled to gain an oz every time ....
I did have a 10 inch fish that was so fat. I weighed it and it was 1.82 |

Definitely sounds like the bass were gorging themselves. Thanks for the input Matt.

Did anyone capture any notable water temps and bait fish jumping?

That place always seems to put out. Catching a good Lunker or kicker bass seemed elusive.

The whole lake was active with bait, especially by the ramp. |
