Veteran Member Posts: 530 Joined: 14.12.10	Well, talked myself out of going to Rainbow probably shouldve just went. Arrived at Giampetro around 11am and fished there till about 2 without a sniff, talked to 2 other boaters who had equal results, so i pulled the boat and headed for Iona because it was somewhat on the way home. Launched the boat off the wall of a ramp and started over. Fished around for a while with nothing. w#$% was hawkin at this point i was getting blown in circles like crazy so i hit some of wind blocked areas. Started raking the area with a Mepps Agalia #3 just trying to get bit. About 10 mins in set the hook on something heavy, fought like a freight train. Im thinkin nice bass or more likely slob snot rocket. Get this thing to teh boat and its nothing ive ever seen before. Im thinkin its small carp, anyone? Ive never caught one only seen them swimming. Anyway i snagged him in the gill which was the reason for the fight. Afterward fought my way aganst the waves to the Jakes shorline and fished my way to the top of teh lake catching 3 snot rockets on the mepps before calling it a day. Water temps varing from 43 to 46 on both lakes. BTW: Like to give a thanks to Jimbo for the offer to fish Rainbow probably would have teken it up if i checked this site in the morning. must be a pretty good guy to talk to someone for maybe 3 mins at the meeting then offer him an open seat and tour 2 weeks later bonus pic nice bass from my home puff monday in the rain

Senior Member Posts: 361 Joined: 29.07.10	the mystery fish is a sucker. also jimbo is a good guy, he invited me to fish a tx with him last year and we took 3rd and lunker. i just joined sjht last year, but so far everyone has been friendly and helpful.
