Welcome to Event#9 at ASSUNPINK LAKE.
On Saturday, 9 SJHT finest came out to battle up at Assunpink Lake for the 2022 Club Only Tag Team Belts. With the weather uncertain and pouring showers further South, anglers knew we could get drenched. But that didn't happen. Turned out to be a nice day overall. Anglers were randomly drawn and paired up with me abstaining.
Here we go!!!
The Pink is typically good for a decent 5+lber or more on any given day. Well anglers were catching bass but most were below the 15" threshold. That made finding and targeting the right structures, depths, and bottom areas key. Plenty of dinks but a little difficult to catch anything over 15".
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to Rob *Limit by 630am* Masterson who took 1st and won 1/2 of this years 2022 Tag Team Belts by weighing in 3 Bass weighing 7.45lbs . 2nd Place was won by Carlos *Good to catch Bass* Jimenz with 3 bass going 6.79lbs. 3rd Place and Lunker was won by Bill *The Hammer* Leach with 1 Bass going 4.63lbs. Miscellaneous was won by Wayne *Moe* Neville Sr. with a 1.83lbs Pickeral. The other half of the SJHT Tag Team Belts was won by Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino with 1 Bass going 2.19lbs

Summary: Assunpink Lake always seems to fish tough for those not use to adjusting to changing weather and the environment. Between the slight cold front and overnight showers and the lack of sunshine to push those Bass into there deeper typical hidehouts, anglers were scrambling to the very end. After making some suddle adjustments and slowing down retrieves and focusing in areas where the grass transitions to the deeper depths...did anglers not only get better bites but hauled in at least one keeper with less than 30 minutes left in the Tournament.
In All, 5 out of 9 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 10 Bass caught overall. ASSUNPINK LAKE gave way to total of 25.51lbs caught overall. The avg. weight was 2.55lbs
Overall.... Only 2 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.
Congrats to Rob, Carlos, Bill L., and Moe on your performances.
