Wow...Can you believe this has been our 10th year of doing this event! First off I would like to say I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July Holiday weekend celebration. What a difference a year makes from our slightly previously interupted Duracheo weather event in 2012.
I would also like to thank this years 2013 SJHT 10th Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament Sponsors Bob and Katie of "PowerTeam Lures"
www.powerteamlure... . Your generous Gift card donation which in fact was a continuation from 2012 was a major hit with all anglers. I can honestly say the anglers appreciated this and I did also.
Another 2013 long time SJHT supporter and partner when it comes to designing awards outside of the typical box is Mr. John Nestore of Gloucester County Awards and Trophies for there donation of our 2nd and 3rd place 2013 winners plaques.
Union Lake has been our lone Open Buddy Tournament for many years and incorporating that sunrise adds a nice touch. Thanks Gloucester County Awards and Trophies!
Secondly, I have to give big props to all my SJHT Helpers for not only coming out to fish event, but to also aid in the registration, livewell checks, boat# paddles, weigh-in, food, and really assisting me from beginning to end of the tournament. In spite of the baking, blistering 92 degree heat and blue bird skies, anglers came out to battle for our 3rd installation of this years 2013 SJHT Open Buddy Tag Belts and they did not disappoint. Even the Kayakers came out to get some!!!
another great and outstanding 2013 SJHT Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament. Today we had 31 boats register to fish and battle the ever hot sun beaming down overhead.
The Heat and the Sun beating down on these anglers was painful sitting and watching from shore!!!! However these guys battled to the end quite literally.
Without further adieu give a big shoutout to the team of Woody and partner John Franchetta for taking 1st place with 5 fish weighing 12.54lbs. . Second was won by the team of Mike *RodBender* Yocious & Mike Netter. with 5 fish weighing 9.95lbs. Not to be outdone, 2x Champ and always top 3 finisher the team of Howard Brown & Troy Polhamus took 3rd place with 5 fish for 8.24lbs. The Lunker award and prize was won by the dad and son combo of David & Jake Haas with a 5.17lb pig of a bass. Congrats Gents and to all that came out in support of SJHT and putting on a decent event.
