-----------------------------------------------------
Back in action after almost a month of inactivity, it felt fantastic running the big motor and getting some good bites early on in this Canal tournament.

I first want to give some shout outs to Jiggen Den (Tournament Dir.) along with Jay (VP), Rob (unofficial SJHT photographer), along with a host of others helping out to make sure things run smoothly and on time.
What can I say about the Canal? Earlier in the year, it was not putting out and then word on the street was that it was on fire. Now, I can't say if it was because of the full moon or what, but anglers and guest came out to battle an often times finicky fishery.
On Saturday, SJHT had 15 anglers and 1 guest come out for some fun in the sun. There were 4 Limits brought to the scales.. 12 out of 16 anglers weighed at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 21 Bass weighed in totalling 42.75 lbs. That gave way to avg. bass weight of 2.04lbs.
Without further adieu, please give a big shout-out to our 2013 AOY, Classic Champ, and Tag Team Champ Jackson *Still Cashing Checks* Fu. for catching 3 bass going 9.65lbs[/b]. Second place was won by Dennis *Jiggen Den* T. with 3 Bass going 6.81 lbs. Jiggens Den's Lunker went a whopping 4.91lbs. Third place was taken by default by Kyle *WallHanger*S. with 3 Bass going 4.17lbs.
Way to figure them out men on another tough day.

The Fu Man's own 4.11 lb lunker through the eyes of the bag.

The bass was like damn....caught again by the Silent Assassin!!! LOL!!
Last but least Jay on weigh in scale...

So in summary, With the Bass Masters Elite series going on the Delaware River and our local fan favorite Mike Ike doing his part of his job, I could sense by the turnout that the SJHT crew really wanted to put there best foot forward. Anglers including myself seem to catch there better keepers early and up close to some type of structure. I had many small bites and pick up by the 2 Bass I lost really hurt as I was feeling like KVD (without his money) trying to figure these Canal bass out. Like any season angler, Jackson, Jiggen Den, and Kyle figured them out real good. Two slobs of a lunker caught and anglers culling by 7:30am tells you that the Canal is alive and well. Outside of the high and bright sun and Hot air temps, anglers felt the conditions were excellent. I believe the bass were definitely more active earlier on but it still beat a day at work. Oh and Jackson loves fishing the Canal!!! LOL
Congrats again to Jackson, Jiggen Den, and Kyle in figuring them out and to all members and guest that came out!
See you all next week for our next Club Tournament at Lake Lenape .
Tightlines,
BN06

Congrats Jackson, Den, and Kyle. Me an Jackson raced for the first spot. Jackson let me have it and moved a bit ahead. I had one follow a buzzbait and that was it. Moved to next spot about 50 minutes later and Jackson tells me he already has 5 as I pass by. I ended up with 5 or 6 shorts the whole day.
Be on the lookout for a sale, because I'm better off fishing from a tube with a snoopy pole |

Congrats Jackson on another impressive win! Did you have your limit by 8;00? Caught lots of shorts and finally my last 2 keepers with one hour left. Both came off the same piece of wood! Congrats to Chris on taking 3rd place. Nice to see you back in action!!!

Thanks, it was one of those days where I was in the right spot at the right time through out the day. Caught a bunch of fish and believe it or not, that was my first and possibly second ever Canal 4lbder. |
