Greetings SJHT and members,
As one is aware of the worldwide and national coronavirus epidemic, many of our typical way of life activities have been put on hold, cancelled, postponed, and simply prohibited.
Events that are outside of our control are being dictated from the standpoint of safety and well being for our members, families, parents, co-workers, and the general public. We as a club members and leaders within our own domains normally have plans in place for scenarios B, C, and even D, however with the counties and now the states NJ, DE, PA, and MD preventing gatherings of 10 or more people our hands are somewhat tied in getting around these mandates safely.
I have thought of several scenarios and it still comes back to safely limiting exposure not just to you but also possibly your family members.
After NJ Fish and game cancelled all permits regarding fishing WMAs bodys of waters along with State Parks, Maryland Fish and Game followed suit with there state parks and areas under there jurisdiction. On Saturday, March 21, 2020, i recieved an email from the state of Delaware stating all events were cancelled until at least May 15th, 2020 which things will be re-evaulated. LUMS SP is a NO GO!
This Friday evening, i held a limited Zoom meeting with the Executive committee and 7 other invited members. This was before the The state of NJ shut everything down on Sunday.
At that discussion, it was agreed to play things by ear and wait and see. Not to cancel the entire season but miss the earlier scheduled tournaments and maybe pick back up once travel restrictions and crowd restrictions have been lifted.
Right now, I would like to be a solutuon not an added contributor to the mass problem effecting health, work/jobs, families, and just everyday living. With that being said, we're on hiatus till further notice.
If you have any questions or concerns, please direct towards me. As we move forward, I'll try to keep everyone abreast of the ever so changing situation.
