and a pretty cool Moon over the BoatHouse...
Welcome to round #11 of the SJHT 2021 season where 13 members came out to battle at HogieFest at Mercer Lake.
The bite was very active at the start of today's Mercer Lake tournament. Anglers reported catching dink...after dink....after dink. There were some keepers included in that mix but once that bright sun got overhead, the bigguns got lock jaw. Pretty much sums it up.
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to overall 1st place winner Rob Masterson on his winning bag weighing in 3 Bass going 8.92lbs . 2nd Place and overall Lunker was won by Carlos *I still can catch em when I go with a Game Plan* Jimenz with 3 Bass going 7.75lbs. Carlos Lunker went a nice 3.80lbs. 3rd Place was won by Bill *The Hammer* Leach with 2 Bass going 6.30lbs.Misc. was won by Rob Msterson with a decent CatFish going 2.09lbs.

Summary: MERCER LAKE was "Who we Thought she was".
A decent fishery with quality/thick Bass. The Bass or shall I say the Dinks were very active. Anglers caught between 7~10 Dinks throughout todays event.
Air Temps were pretty comfortable for the most part....especially starting off in the AM. Water Temps were nearly 10 degrees cooler than it was on the Canal a week earlier. 1st Keeper came by 6:30am. 2nd Bite came about 10mins later but was on the short side. See pics above. Caught a catfish bouncing small jig head tip with a Riot bait and I thought it was on. Little did I know, it was about to slow down tremendously.
In All, all 8 out of 13 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 13 Bass caught overall. The MERCER LAKE Bass gave way to total of 36.98lbs caught overall. Mercer's Lake avg. weight was 2.84lbs.
Only 2 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit. Another decent turnout on our yearly SJHT HogieFest\Pizza Fest Day.
Congrats to Rob M., Carlos J. and Bill L. on your performances.
