Splurged a bit today

Just bought a new Minn Kota Fortex 101. Should be here Monday and hope to have it all set up for ready for the tourney on the 2nd. Should be a nice upgrade from my 65.

Now I just need to re do the system, my current set up does not have any breakers and I need to add them to this motor to be safe, spent way to much money on it.

So if anyone has wiring advice please feel free to share.

Wire size, breaker size, how many, how or where to add them....

i have 4ga with my fortrex 80 with no breakers and never had a problem

with all that money you spent on that motor, i would definetly use a 60 amp breaker that Minn Kota reccomends and sells for $40. you can't go wrong and its waterproof. I can see what Kyle says cause i never used them in the past either but, when you start getting into big money, i think its foolish not to. I have a 50 amp breaker on a 50lb thrust and it calls for a 60 amp. so i would use the reccomended breaker for that 101. Besides if you don't use it it will void your warranty.

Gotta go with a breaker. If there is a short, you don't want to blow the motor.

It's all your fault making me spend that money lol.

Christening was nice to and the food was good. My girls offered to babysit both little ones.
