Welcome to Event#3 at RAINBOW Lake where the 2022 AOY is almost wrapped up! Nah!!! Just kidding but it's kinda feeling that way.
Today, 13 SJHT members came out to our 3rd Event of the season. With changing weather conditions and an unstable weather pattern the past 3 weeks and couple of days, we were hoping the Bass would be biting....and biting they were for most.
I'm not sure if Thanos truly exist but lately it appears we've been getting our tails kicked with not so much quantity but quality of bass by the defending 2019, 2020, & 2021 AOY Brian *On another whole level" McCulley. This guy ever since pulling the Manasquan Res. "Howdy Doody" at the end of 2021 seems to catch only Big Bass in our SJ ponds. I'll discuss a bit later.
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to Brian *On a 60 Plus consecutive Tournament Iron-man Streak* McCulley took 1st by weighing in 3 Bass weighing 9.82lbs . 2nd Place and Lunker was won by original SJ Hook One member Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino with 2 Bass going 7.77lbs. Jiggen Den's Lunker went an impressive 5.49lbs.3rd Place was won by returning from injury Brandon *I thought I had at least 2nd Place* with 3 Bass going also 7.77lbs. Jiggen Den's Lunker broke the Tie Breaker. Misc. was won by Mike *The Boogey Man* Del Monico with a PICKERAL going 2.94lbs.

Other interesting areas explored:
Summary: Rainbow Lake a Mid-size SJ WMA body of water definitely has them. Every year, someone pulls out a 5+lber there. Members reported catching Bass all throughout the water columns. Whether you were shallow.....Near deeper pockets....or just near moving water with less calm area, anglers were getting bit left and right. Most were cookie cutter size but for those that luck upon those bigger species, they were fortunate while others loss some good ones next to the side of there boats. Rainbow Lake didn't disappoint. Pretty much everyone caught Bass. Yes...there were some Pickeral caught but for the most part, just about everyone weighed in a Bass. Personally I had my first hook up 20mins into the event. Next hook up was about an hour later. 3rd bass came another 30 minutes later so I guess I had an early bite but they were still biting and suddly picking up our lures later in the day too. Now that guy Brian on the other hand either figured out the Avengers tactics in increasing his 2022 AOY lead over everybody else or he's on PED's. LOL!!!! I think I'll have his blood tested before the next LUMS SP event in 2 weeks.
In All, all 12 out of 13 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 29 Bass caught overall. An increase of 19 Bass from fishing last week at Lenape Lake. Rainbow Lake gave way to total of 51.71bs caught overall. 29.53lbs vs. the total at Lake Lenape last week. The avg. weight was 1.78bs.
Overall.... 6 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.
Congrats to Brian McCulley, Jiggen Den Tolentino, and Brandon Kushall on your performances.
