What time is it? It's game time!!! While everyone was preparing for the start of the NFL season, SJHT finished up there regular 2013 Tournament club schedule. Next up in 2 weeks is our annual Bass Classic where winner takes all and is presented this years 2013 Classic Belt.
Today, 14 SJHT members mosey on down to D.O.D. Lake to catch bass and of course catch crabs! Yes... Live action is back and we even have video footage of the carnage....but that will have to wait to the end.
sneek peek
For the record, D.O.D. Lake is one tough hombre'! Anglers reported catching dink after dink after dink, but still hung in there till the end. Heck, I even caught this short myself.
Another great turnout by the SJHT crew. Today while Action Jackson was occupied down on the Canal...anglers surmised it was there day. LOL!!
There were a total of 17 bass caught weighing a total of 22.99lbs . 1 member caught there limit of 3 Bass. 11 out of 14 anglers caught at least 1 bass. This gave way to avg. weight of 1.35lbs. Lunker Fish was noted and won by Bill *The Hammer* L. going 2.75lbs.
Let's give a big congrats to Wayne *Moe* N. Sr. for taking 1st place with 2 Bass going 3.73lbs . 2nd Place was won by Bill *The Hammer* L. with 2 Bass going 3.56lbs Bill's lunker went 2.75lbs. 3rd Place was won by Dan *Crappie Jon* F. with 2 Bass weighing 3.36lbs.

All Done
D.O.D. Lake is one of those places that although the bite can be tough, it keeps attracting those anglers looking for Giants...and I don't mean the NY Giants. LOl! Unlike previous tournaments where anglers raced toward the back of the lake, anglers this time spread out a bit. I stuck to my game plan of fishing the main ramp area body of D.O.D. and it paid off with a nice 2.26lber. I had numerous pick-ups and dinks caught but nothing comparable to my keeper. Angler through out the day was scurrying for that next big bite. As the sun got up overhead and the air and water temps rose slightly, the action was pretty non-existant. Fishing deep drop-offs layered with a little bit of grass proved to be the ticket. With only 1 limit brought to the scale going under 2.50lbs, that right there says it all.
My keeper came around 11am in between 4'-8' of water off an island point.
The crab caught reminded me some years ago when I first caught one there while fishing. Bill is seriously thinking about dropping some traps down there.
All in all....what a way to end SJHT regular 2013 regular season club Tournament.
Thanks again to all of the SJHT members for coming out today. In 2 weeks...see you at this years 2013 SJHT 2-Day Bass Classic at Parvin SP and Stone Tavern.
Tough tourney congrats to all the fish catchers, I didn't expect to have to work as hard as I did for my fish.
And of course well give the devil his due. Congrats Jackson on a great season. Hard to argue with those numbers but ill continue to try lol. Also congrats to rob on winning the battle for 1st loser. According to my hand calculations you held on by 0.18 points
Overall a fun year, looking forward to the classic. Well kind of, who picked those lakes? Lol
"2nd place is just the first loser"
