Welcome to SJHT's 9th event of the 2026 season. 7 dedicated SJHT anglers came back out to fish Cooper River Park on day that promised many limits and PB's Miscellaneous. On day where most would probably stay home, the weather was actually pretty calm and reasonable by most standards. It rain a little bit with downpours coming late afternoon but only for like 10mins.
Let's Go!
Please give a big congrats to BN06 *1st Time for Everything* on taking 1st place, Lunker, and a Whopping MISC. with 3 Bass going 6.59lbs. BN's Lunker went a nice 3.08lbs. He followed that up with a PB and Massive Snakehead going a hefty 7.42lbs. The perfect Tri-fecta. [b] Second place was won by Bill *The Hammer* Leach with 3 Bass going 6.52lbs 3rd place was won by Rob* Not Lowe* Masterson with 3 bass going 6.38lbs.

A Local former Garden State Bass Masters member G.O.A.T! I ran into on the shores of the Coop. Mr. Emerson Hill A.K.A. "Mr. NJ Bass: IYKYK! Thanks for the Great Stories and Flashback in time competing with and against some of NJ Hall of Famer anglers.
Summary: What cane only be described as a morning of adapting to the changing weather, forcasted rain, and possibly down pours, each angler headed to their spots while some ventured to new pathways. The weather was pretty calm, with a slight breeze. With the barometric pressure changing with the incoming forecast, the bass seem to lbite better when there were actual rain drops hitting the lake. The suddle sprinkles we got actually seemed to turn the bass on.
Air temps along with the slight wind was ideal. Cooper River Bass activity was good although anglers reported losing some nice ones next to the boat. That includes myself as they hit late or right next to the boat and my reaction time was a tad off.
So this week, we had 19 keeper size bass weighed in. The total weight of all bass was 35.61lbs. That gave way to an avg. of 1.87lbs. 7 out of 7 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 6 Limits brought into the scales. As the morning went on, Bass were still biting but every so often as the light rain seem to turn them on. On a day that seemed like it was going to be tough with the lower than normal water levels, and the outgoing tide, anglers actually caught bass but not of the Enormous sizes we're use to. That PB SnakeHead from BN06 was EPIC. Hopefully Rob can upload the Go Pro video of that moment as 911 was about to be called. That thing hit like a ton of bricks and was peeling drag to the point of not knowing whether the spinnerbait with trailer hook in his mouth was going to hold.
Congrats to BN06, Bill, and Rob on your performances.
Next up is D.O.D Lake in 2 weeks.
