Super Admin Posts: 2199 Joined: 09.11.09	South Jersey Hook This held its 23rd Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament on Sat. July 4th, 2026. We had 19 boats come out to battle on an Extremely Hot and Steamy Humid day where air Temps were like 103 degrees. The 35 anglers came bright and early on what was going to be a tough day. Today's Union Lake Tale of the Tape follows. 2026 SJHT 23rd Union Lake Open Buddy T. Oxygenated Livewell Tanks and Boat Launch: https://i.imgur.c...mTQhZW.mp4 1st Place Boat#7. Solo Team of Leo Perez 5 LMB Bass going 12.63lbs. 2nd Place Boat#15 Team of Anthony Taraschi & Ava Fisher. 5 LMB going 11.17lbs. 3rd Place Winner. Boat#5 Team of Jay & Josh Burger. 5 LMB going 10.79lbs Lunker Winner: Boat#11 Team of Steve Patrick & Mike Miley going 3.18lbs Other anglers and images: SJHT's very own Jiggen Den and Bill "The Hammer" Leaches Bag Greg and Andrea Zinni Bag: Summary: Overall many anglers caught Bass but finding and not losing those kicker fish seemed to be a problem. Many anglers reported losing giants while some reported once that sun got up and high with barely any wind, it became tougher. According to some, Union Lake has been fishing pretty good with good bags over the last 3 weeks. The waters Temps were in the high 80's with mild visibility. Fish were caught all throughout the day. We only had 2 fish fatalities today due to gut hooks. Thanks to our Oxygenated livewell tanks and anglers taking the necessary care of there catch. Great job anglers taking care of your fish today. There were a total 50 largemouth and 1 smallmouth Bass weighed in at 95.48lbs. This avg. out to 1.87lbs per bass. There 7 limits caught today. 13 out of 19 teams weighed at least 1 bass. 6 boaters did not weigh-in. Some bass were released before weighing in. Thank you to all who took time out/from there 4th of July weekend celebration to come out and continue support SJHT in there 23rd Annual event.
