Welcome to SJHT 9th event of the 2024 Season as SJHT anglers traveled down to the Canal for the 1st time this year. With forecasted Thunderstorms and unsteady weather predicted, there was none of that. Turned out to be another Hot and Humid day without any Rain. There's an old saying that the Fish are already wet...so why can't we be a little without the Thunder and Ligtening. LOL
On Saturday, 6 anglers come out in the scorching Hot and humid weather. These anglers battled till the end.
Let's Go!
Please give a big congrats to 1st place, Lunker and Misc. winner Jackson *Could have been on Cooper River* Fu with 3 Bass going 7.58lbs. 2nd Place was won by Rashawn *BN06* with 3 bass going 4.88lbs. Third place was won by Bill *The Hammer* Leach with 3 Bass going 3.84lbs. Fu's MISC CatFish went .97lbs.
SALEM CANAL TALE OF TAPE:
Fu's 1st Place with 3 Bass at 7.58lbs:
BN06's 2nd Place winner bag of 3 Bass going 4.88lbs:
Summary: Salem Canal seemed to be on fire initially as I had 2 keepers within the 1st hour with numerous other pick-ups within 2hrs. By 8AM, I had my 3 Bass limit but could not updsize any of the smaller Bass. The low cloud cover and sun hidden behind the clouds, I believe aided in catching them early. Other anglers reported also getting bit but some reported losing some decent ones along side of the boat. The bite for most was either hit or miss judging by the Tale of the Tape. The Canal this time of year can be tough but that didn't stop those that ventured out today.
Overall.... 3 anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit. 6 out of 6 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 14 Bass caught weighing a total of 23.44lbs. Giving way to a 1.67lb Avg.
Congrats to Jackson Fu, BN06, and to Bill Leach on your perforrmances.
