------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to SJHT's 10th official tournament of 2025 where 7 committed SJHT anglers came out to compete on the CANAL. The weater forecast seemed ideal with no real storms insight. Barametric pressure seemed steady the days leading up to our event. Though Kicking Bass were on the waters on Saturday, they nicely left us some Bass to catch on Sunday. LOL
Let's Go!
Please give a big congrats to Jackson *I'm still here Baby* Fu for taking 1st, Lunker and MISC with 3 Bass going 6.35lbs. His Lunker went 2.68.lbs. Fu also took MISC with a 2.04lb SNAKEHEAD. Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino took 2nd place with 3 Bass going 5.70lbs. Rashawn *BN06* took 3rd place with 3 Bass going lbs. 4.97lbs.
SALEM CANAL TALE OF TAPE:
[b]FU's 1st, Lunker, MISC Place with 3 Bass at 6.35lbs
Summary: What can I say? It felt so good being back on the water. Can you tell by the Kool Aid Smile!!! LOL.
Members and Hall of Famer Wayne *Moe* Neville Sr. came out to join in the festivities. Great seeing him again. Anglers reported early bites but they were barely 12". Most anglers went left of the boat ramp while I was the only that went Right toward my favorite spots before the split in the road. Ran into some other local anglers and had a brief conversation. Felt really good running the engine and catching 2 keepers before 7:45am. Caught other sub 12" Bass in between so I made the decision to run to the promise land.... (Towards the Log Jams). See video. Anyways, I ended up picking up my 3rd keeper by 10:45am. From there on out I was looking at upgrading so I continued along that area. Got some other bites but nothing over my lunker size of 2.14lbs. Fast forward and I head back towards the ramp and ge no other bites. It got really hot with the sun and humidity on Sunday, so I was virtually cooked. LOL.
So this week we had 12 Bass weighed in. The total weight of all bass was 20.43lbs. That gave way to an avg. of 1.70llbs. 6 out 7 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 3 limits weighed in. Fish were caught throughout the day and anglers reported culling several times. All in all, a very good day on the CANAL.
Congrats to Jackson Fu, Jiggen Den, and BN06 on your performances.
Next up is ASSUNPINK LAKE IN 2 weeks.
Tightlines,
BN06
