Welcome to the NJ Bass Fishing closed season boys and girls. Another awesome turnout for the SJHT crew. We had 16 members and 2 guest come out to play. Thanks Sue and Ben for not just coming out but showing the rest how you catch bass.

Since this was a paper tournament and only a few pics were taken on the water, I'll get to the point and the Malaga Lake tale of the tape.

There were a total of 25 bass caught weighing a total of 47.87lbs. 6 members caught there limit of 3 Bass. 11 out of 18 anglers at least 1 bass. There was a 2 way tie for Lunker at 3.07lbs.

Let's give a big congrats to Brian *Bass Hopper* S. for taking 1st place with 3 Bass going 6.76lbs. 2nd Place and Lunker was won by his wife Sue with 3 Bass going 6.68lbs. 3rd Place and Lunker was won by Silent Assassin Jacksonwith 3 Bass weighing 6.49lbs. Way to figure them out and take a couple of snap shots in the process.

Note: Side way looking images will be re-adjusted later this evening..once home.. pray

Saturday, marked the 1st time since the club was named Hook One! we actually held a paper tournament. Plenty of bass were caught. Anglers and there riders pretty much followed the general rules for weighing (Paper guideline), recording, and if possible, taking photos of there catches. Jiggen Den and myself started off fishing the far side of the sandy boat ramp near the playground and worked our weigh up towards the dam. Initially, we were getting small taps on DS and the jigs. I must have caught a 1lb bluegill as my line started moving away from the boat. A good fatty if I may say so my self. Jiggen Den, once passed the small island caught his 1st bass in between some pads. Fish pretty much shot out from the pads and inhaled his jig. The call to "GRAB THE NET" came out and he had his 1st bass. I proceeded to keep chucking the DS mixed in with the Rattle Trap but only caught pickeral and other junk fish. As we circle around the dam, the depth became too shallow and I didn't want to deal with the stump field in the glass boat. Not too mention damaging the trolling motor. We then tried fishing dead center with small hits but nothing to show for our efforts. Wanting to explore the Northern channel, we trolled towards that area and notice how much colder the water temps were and decided after a few cast and bass inactivity to go back where Jiggen Den had some success. That proved to be the ticked because as we drifted and at times avoided other anglers, that's where his limit ultimately came from. Nice and slow along with fishing the wind aided drop offs proved successful. Anytime you have guest Sue nearly beating Hubby B-Hopper from the back of the boat...you know she is a serious fisher women! LOL!!

Feel free to jump in and add your input and Day on the water reflection. What worked. What didn't work. Any interesting observations. Recommendations for future Paper T's. More\Less?

Thanks again to all especially our guest for joining SJHT this past weekend.

Note: Please send prayer and condolescence to Jay "SmellyHooker " N. and family in the loss of his wifes grandmother. Jay..we knew something had to have come up when we didn't see you or dad. Good luck on the boat repair welding issue. If there is a problem or need to jump on another boat in the intrim, just let us know in advance. Tell Dad to stop messing with those Stewart fishes. LOL!!

Next Up: The North East River, MD (Launching out of Anchor Marine, Thursday, May 16, 2013). 6am-2pm. If you have an open spot on ones boat or would like to pair up, please make contact and get a whole of a member who you would like to fish with. Some have already discussed and paired up anglers that will be fishing, A separate thread will be created to list those planning on fishing and if they're fishing solo or with a buddy.

Happy Mother's Day to all members and guest of SJHT. Enjoy the upcoming weekend and stay safe. Happy up coming to members Bill *The Hammer* L. And Layne E. Birthdays this week and the week of May 14th.

Tightlines,
BN06

First, my condolence to Jay and family, our prayers are with you. A big thanks to BN for having me as a rider on his boat. Always a good time as in the past! I think in my opinion that most of the club would probably like to fish a body of water that would allow us to weight in our fish like Lums pond etc. on closed season in Jersey.

Congrats the Brian and his wife, great job. I liked it better when you did the math before you handed the paper to BN.

Sorry to hear the news Jay, hope to see you guys at the next T.

Jay, sorry for your loss. You and your family have my heartfelt sympathy.

Congrats to Brian and Sue for a great one two punch. Nice lunker Sue.

Nice job Jackson, you got skills. I'm sure the fish have your picture on a wanted poster, so don't get in the water!!!

Looking good Jiggin. How's the boat sale going? Congrats to all fish catchers, nice numbers.

Have a great week everybody.
Murphy

P.S. Other than Janeen, that group photo is pretty scary. LOL
If I was driving down that road I would turn back.
