Ladies and gentlemen,
As August is moving quickly along, and a consensus has yet to be really made for our previous cancelled scheduled 8/25/13 Nockamixon Tournament, I would like your feedback regarding possibly fishing either Spruce Run Reservior located up near Clinton, NJ or possibly fishing the NorthEast Flats out of Anchor Marine, MD
I mention these 2 bodies of water due to as we've (i.e. As a club event) never Fished Spruce Run Res. before. Although it is a 9.9mph max. horsepower body of water, it's still doable with a strong Trolling motor and good batteries. For most of the South Jersey guys, it would be at a mininum a 2hr 15min drive. But if you've ever seen my back in the day photos's, it's definitely worth it for the day.
I threw in NorthEast Flats, MD just for the hell of it. We did fairly good there back in May. Would be interesting to see if it fished the same in the latter part of August.
The alternative to not fishing...is go back to my plan of holding our annual Oak Pond "WMA" Lake clean-up that weekend.
Please provide your input or likelyhood of attending either locations if chosen.
Thanks in advance.

I would have to go with Flats, and hopefully no other tour is being held that day!

Flats is awesome of course, but we did already do it, although I may have a real boat to fish out of by than. Mercer is fishing amazing this year. In my other club a guy had 3 for over 13lbs earlier this year. Also, theres always swedes. |

Carnegie and the scullers pose a problem. The best planning can't predict when and what time they'll show up. Marsh Creek is out due to the $30 7 Day fishing license fee. Hence why we took Nockamixon off the schedule. Not to mention the boat launch fee.
Big D. That would rule out those with the smaller boats and being somewhat unfamiliar with that body of water, we would be better pairing up....but right now...not feasible.

What ya been reading those Bassnj East Creek reports? Lol!!
Davis Mill would require a WMA permit...Not sure how quick or if another club is already fishing it that day. Menatico is an idea....
Water works ramps sucks worse than Maskells Mills plus it's a small area to launch..
Farrington's boat ramp also sucks big time...and depending on the number of boats showing up, things could get a little tight.
Mirror Lake? Are you serious...have you been following that that town of Pemberton now requires a $50 permit per boater to fish there.
Last one is definitely out....

Can you post the lakes that are off limits due to the conflict list? How's Lenape... Everyone still registered? Water level was up pretty good last week!

I think its mainly DOD, Canal, Maurice, Del river, and SVP are taken. Why fish somewhere we have already when there are so many places that are good still available? |

I just prefer to go where we can find some big fish if possible. Fishing the flats a second time can't be that bad. I can get into a little Mercer 3 for 13 action also. |
