Water Temps: 44-49 degrees
Water Clarity: Down to 1.5'; Semi-Stain with good grass throughout

Best Lure: Rattletrap, Finesse Jigs, Crankbaits
Depths fished: 2'~5.0'
Bass Limit: 3
-----------------------------------------------------
What happens when you combine 21 of SJHT finest anglers and 1 guest at the beast that lies within Union Lake? How does that song go? The Freaks come out at night! The freaks come out at night! Come and sing long!!! LOL

The Beast's of the week:
Dan *Crappie Jon" F. 2 hogs going 9.16lbs
Now, I don't typically start off in this manner, but by all accounts Dan was definitely onto to something and deserved Top Billing!!!
Moving onward... As 21 members and 1 guest found out the hard way, Union Lake is No Biatch. Some anglers blanked, while those who somewhat figured them out caught a couple of Good Ones!! I really didn't find any particular pattern but I will say the grass is coming in nicely at Union Lake this time of year. Did I mention Grass, well that my friends is where it seems many of the bass were being caught along with the warm sections of the lake.
Without further adieu, lets give a big shout-out to all who came out and tested there skill levels in our 2nd tournament of the season. Taking 1st place and Lunker, Dan *Crappie Jon* F. caught 2 Bass going 9.16lbs with Lunker going 4.88lbs
Second Place was won by that Snoop Doggy Dog look a like and second yr member, Joe *JRBasspro* H. with 3 Bass caught weighing 6.62lbs. Mr. Snoop Dog credits his success to paying close attention to the water conditions and watching constant hours of the WFN Outdoor Channel Timmy Horton shows! LOL! Third place was won by last weeks overall winner Kyle *WallHanger* S. with 3 Bass going 5.94lbs
Congrats Men on an outstanding tough fishing day and your determination to fish till the end!
2nd Place winner Joe H. aka. *KVB* or aka *The Black Mamba* or aka *JRBassPro* or aka *I'm gonna get you Sucka*

3rd Place winner Kyle *WallHanger* S.:

Here's the Official Tale of the Tape:

Other pics of members and there catches:
Bobby's 2.84lb pickeral and Bass

Kerry's Lunker Pickeral 3.05lbs:

Jackson performing a colonoscopy of the Pickeral devoured sunfish

What's that old saying? When it's your day..It's your own Day!!! The results both with fish being caught and many anglers being skunked tells it all. We had a total of 13 Largemouth Bass caught weighing 32.04lbs. That gave way to a 2.46lb avg weight. 7 out of 22 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. We only had 2 Limits of 3 Bass. Our Biggest Pickeral Pot yielded a 3.05lber by Kerry *Big856K* S. Many others caught respectable size pickerals but I was too lazy to list there names....but I did take pics. Lol!
Another Nice Turnout the SJHT members!!! Upon my 1st arrival, I thought there was a buddy T. or another club fishing Union lake. I quickly found out, it was just us!! Good stuff!
See you all next week for our 3rd Club tournamnet at Assunpink Lake.
Tightlines,
BN06

Congrats Dan! I knew you had something good in that bag, you had a glow about your face!LOL Awesome bag an d lunker! Congrats to Joe on taking second, and Kyle for 3rd! way to keep the pressure on Kyle! Congrats on the pickeral win Kerry!A big congrats to all the other fish catchers!, it was a tough day for me. not even a sniff! Never fished the trap or jerkbait as long as I did and still nothing! What am I doing wrong?? My temp gauge is broken so I had no idea what the temps were. Guess I should have followed the crowd!LOL
On another note, I would like to see those who put there boats in early to stay within the ramp area, but not to hamper those who are still launching there boats. For some reason there are anglers that keep drifting further and further away from our initial starting point, which is not fair to the other anglers! This happens at all our tournaments! Let's make that change at Assunpink!

Den what I can say on that and not to be an ass but there are those of us who get there 1 hour early, ready to go, launch, and then are forced to wait and wait because others show up late. On top of that we are forced to have a late start also because people are late getting there. Now you have people that have drifted farther and farther away from the ramp. By then poeple are pisseed becuase they are still waiting. Sunday was supposed to be a 7:00AM start and we never started until 7:15AM.
If people don't care if they are late then can you expect those who make sure they are there on time and ready to care how far they have floated away while waiting.
I hope I havent offended anyone but I am just telling it like it is and we all know I always speak my mind good or bad LOL

Duly noted Den,
Like bob said its difficult to stay close to the ramp with eveyone still launching at 7:00am. I was always taught that when fishing a tournament one should be at the ramp prepping boat for launch at least one hour before the start time. I like my boat to be in the water ready to go 30 minutes before the start time, because I dont expect anyone to wait for me when that start time comes around. I know others are this way, and when youve been waiting on ur boat all amped up ready to slay donkeys, every minute feels like an hour. Obviously chit happens sometimes but just my observation as a contibuting member of a great club

To add to it the tournament start on time if you're late it should be your responsibility to find one of the club officers and have your live well checked pay your money etc. And then start fishing it's really not fair to hold off all the other members because some people are late

Now now, Dens doing his job as director addressing the concerns of other members. I agree with Den and you guys. Lets all try to be better at getting there earlier and staying closer to the ramp.
Though at Union does it really matter when someone in a so called "9.9" flys by you at 25mph?
Id like to also add that on electric lakes, I personally drift away so I dont run other people over when BN calls go. |

Oh and I will also defend myself in advance of why I am drifting away from the ramp at the Flats, Its so I dont swamp everyone accidently or Dan intentionally. |

I understand Dennis point and agree with him too that boat should stay closer. But it is aggravating when you have been out on the water for 45 min waiting and if we all wait to put the boats in till the last min it would be a big mess. Some guys dont seem to want to put in early but somebody has to to avoid a cluster f*** |
