As the Iron Shiek screamed as The Stink in the Pink put a beat down on most of the field and left anglers bailing often and early.
That's what it felt like ladies and gentlemen as we not only dealt with Mother Nature but uncooperative Bass!
What happens when you combine 20 of SJHT finest anglers and 1 guest comes out and compete at the Pink in the Stink?
The guest which happens to be a 16yr old comes out and land 2 quality size bass and lunkers. Nick A. Guest of Brian *Bass Hopper* showed the rest of us how's to get 'her done!

The Beast's of the week:
Nick A. going 8.04lbs

Moving onward... As 20 members and 1 guest found out the hard way, Assunpink Lake proved to be stingy and unforgiving to just about all. . All anglers blanked, while only 1 true member caught a 2nd place keeper. I really didn't find any particular pattern nor did get any sniffs from a pickerel.
Without further adieu, lets give a big shout-out to all who came out and tested there skill levels in our 3rd tournament of the season. Taking 1st place and Lunker, SJHT guest And nephew of Bass Hopper Nick A. caught 2 Bass going 8.04lbs with Lunker going 4.60

Second Place was won by second yr member, Joe R. with 1 Bass caught weighing 2.04lbs. Thats it folks! No more bass were caught nor weighed in!

Congrats Men on an outstanding tough fishing day and your determination to fish till the end!
2nd Place winner Joe R.

Here's the Official Assunpink Lake Tale of the Tape:

http://youtu.be/U...
So as Backlund fought back with all his might, so came the rise of the Hulkamaniacs and a new sheriff in town. Ladies and gentlemen, it's always a pleasure when our visitors do well but even more pleasurable when it's a teenager and demonstrating everything learned from his big uncle Bass Hopper right in front of us. Congrats Nick on awesome day on the water and taking 1st and Lunker pot winnings!.
Johnny Manzell... I mean Nick A....... Make sure you put this on your HS transcript record as it shows your competitive spirit when most spirits were indeed broken and froze to death by Assunpink Lake. Lol!
See you all next week for our 4th Club Tournament at Mercer Lake.
Tightlines,

Wow, Nick is awesome. Young guns for the win! Get him a hook this jacket. I'm accepting applications for open partners I'll even waive the application fee lol. Nice job to joe too. That T SUCKED
I had to hit the ramp around 9:15 to patch a popped rivet. Was only leaking slow but my bilge pump broke too... Went to relaunch around 9:50 I had a rope from the boat to the trailer. When I pulled up the rope tangled and my boat yanked forward and hit the back of my trailer. Result...

Should be able to be ready for mercer

Congrats Nick. The patience learned from your great golf coach I'm sure helped on such a miserable day way to go Joe on finding a keeper I tried to get it going but the best I could do was a giant pickeral off the beaver hut. After that I headed for the island and the spillway with no luck. I tried to head back to the east end but surrendered when the wind started howling and it started pouring pretty steady. Sorry to hear about the boat Dan. Good luck getting it ready for mercer |

Great job NIck on a miserable day. I was lucky enough or unlucky to catch my keeper. By catching that fish forced me endure the wind and soaking rain. Hopefully it doesn't rain anymore this season. Hopefully my boat dries out by mercer. Dan good luck with your boat. |

Man..that really sucks Dan!!!
Hopefully...you can get it back up and running by this weekend.
Note: Rob. Thanks for snapping those pics as I'm still in the process of getting my new Galaxy.
All...what a heck of a day. Sorry for the posting delay but between drying out, other running around, and recouping physically from Saturday's beat down....I feel back to normal.
Note: The Mercer Lake Start time!!
