Few questions that were mentioned in the other thread but not resolved
First is this still happening as there was discussion it wouldn't.
If so:
Will this be a paper tournament since they only allow catch and release during the closed season until June 15
Anyone find out about the license needed? From looking around I found you need a PA OR MD license if you are fishing the main river. If you are fishing in the creeks you will need a license for the state the creek is in.
Is there a ramp fee there?

Yes Bob there is a ramp fee, I haven't been back there for a year or so. Maybe $7-10 dollars. not sure. Yes you are right on the licenses, A Pa. or Maryland license will work. If you go into Broad Creek which is down on the left hand side as you exit the Marina maybe 1/2-3/4 of a mile.then you would need the Maryland license for sure.

Bob...sorry for just getting back to you. I did get your earlier message. Its been one of those days.
Similar to last years attempt to fish Lake Nockamixon, the conowingo dam was added late this season to offer "other" bodies to fish during NJ closed season. Being that its fed via the Susky River, it didn't dawn on me that it was also closed during the Pa/MD closed season.
Although I know for a fact that I will not be able to make it and Jiggen Den may not be there. I need to check with Jay and John to see if they can make it.
With some things already mentioned by Bob, im interested in the number of potential members willing to travel down and fish this body of water?
With a million and one things going on, ill try to reply back ASAP or find an answer to your questions.
I think each fishing outing is an opportunity to learn and experience a different fishery. What ever is decided/agreed upon, understand that all your thoughts, opinions, and safety is factored in.
Gotta run

If this is a paper TX, I think we should reconsider. Seems like a long ride for a paper and I thought we were going good there to avoid a paper tournament?
Also, we have a very tight race this year. I don't think a paper TX is a good idea because we have to use estimates and no matter what the numbers are not exact. Dan and I finished within .20 of each other last year so the more exact, the better in my opinion. |

Lums would be fun again. If not Lums in DE, any other options in DE? |

Jiggen Den...check the conflict list to see if Lum is available for that weekend. A bit further away is Killen Pond. We fished way back when we were SJ Hook One.

All of everyones reasons is why I brought it up in think its. Far and expensive ride to hold a paper tournament. I don't want to fish it for that reason alone. I already have the MD and PA licenses.

Anyone familiar with Noxontown Lake?
It said it is private but open to the public from Sun Rise to Sun Set. I am reading conflicting articles that say Sunday only though? Here is a link:

And we are 100% sure Conowingo will be a paper if we hold it there? |

So, pardon my ignorance, where would we be fishing? Above the dam or below? The dam is in MD waters. Don't the rules that apply to the Northeast and the Flats apply there too?
Can we fish the flats? Instead of launching out of Anchor, maybe launch out of Port Deposit

Rob I believe that's the lake that we had in the schedule but switched to conowingo. The place has a list of rules about a mile long. It just doesn't work out for our club
I know killiens is a hike but it interested me more than the other options.
Or the flats

Dan, Couldn't remember if it was that one or the PA one with the similar name.
Don't matter, rematch it is. I for one am looking forward to going there again after blanking. |

Looks like we will be fishing out of Duffy's Marina on 5-31-14 from 6:00-2:00. I will confirm for sure tomorrow, and post. 3 fish 15" minimum. So far no other tournaments are scheduled on that day out of Duffy's. Since we had a limit on not going out of the Sass. the last time, I feel those who want to run to the flats are welcome. Just make sure you have plenty of gas, and someones cell phone number, Keep an eye on your gas usage as you run from spot to spot, Like I mentioned before there are two other tourn. going out of Anchor marina that day, so keep that in mind. Would like a head count of who will be there.
There is a ramp fee/envelope system. Don't forget to put the receipt part on your windshield.
