With this crazy cold weather I'm just wondering what is going to happen if the canal is still frozen for out 1st club tx on 3/21. Are we just going to skip that tx or are we going to fish on a different body of water that isn't frozen? I know it's still 3 weeks away but I'm just wondering what happens in a situation like that.... |

Well first question is what is the latest status of the canal? Frozen/openwater/or a combination?
2nd.....if frozen, we always try to find an alternate open body of water, but if not available, then we simply skip that particular tournament.
3rd...lets continue to pray and hope for warmer temps. Unless we continue to have below freezing weather and late snow storms, I think we'll be alright.

You guys can come out here to sunny So Calif. The weather is great right now.  Its going to be in the 80's this weekend.

I was wondering the same thing, if the Canal has open water yet? A friend of mine just bought a boat and wants to run it. It is used and wants to make sure it sea worthy! Was going to take it to the Northeast but found out it is closed due to ice. Not scheduled to reopen until April 15th or so, unless it thaws out before then. I guess they don't want anyone running into iceburgs.

We are looking pretty good for our 2015 Season Opener down on the Canal.

Some of the lakes are open and some are in various stages of thawing. The river is pretty much open. Only some ice floating here and there and in some of the creeks. It might be close. There are going to be a few nights in the 20's but still the temps are going to get into the mid 40's and 50's during the week |

Thanks guys ! I guess Troop was doing a little pre-fishing? I say it every year that I want to get out and pre-fish for the first tour. but it never happens. Still trying to get things ready. some health issues slowing me down along with work. Can't wait!!!
