Welcome to the First State...well that's what the License plates stated as anglers from the Delaware valley swooped in on one of our favorite fisheries.
LUMS Pond........
Round 5 of our storied 2015 season....the bass seem a bit more active then the previous 4 weeks.
14 SJHT anglers came ventured out of state to get on a Pre-spawn bite and the bass did not disappoint.
and neither did the Fu-Man...
Let's give a big congrats to SJHT angler *The Silent Assasin* . for taking 1st place with 3 Bass going 6.58lbs. 2nd Place and Lunker was won by the Slim Shady Man, and *I'm Just getting started" Rookie newcomer Nick A. with 2 Bass going 6.28lbs[/b]. Slim Shady's Lunker went an impressive 4.10lbs. 3rd Place was won by Brian *SubFish* with 3 Bass going 4.86lbs. Congrats men and I heard some Giants broke some off. Do Tell!
Jackson *I'm only getting Started* Fu. 1st place pic:

and Yeah... I catch Crappie TOO!!! "Can't Touch This and Too Legit To Quit"

Nick *Slim Shady* A. 2nd Place and Lunker pic:

Brian *SubFish* M. 3rd Place bag:

LUMS POND Tale of Tape:
[
Other Notable catches:
Dennis *Jiggen Den* T. 4.72lb bag:

Rob *Ram1212* 4.01lbs:

White Mike's 3.28lb Bag:

Dan *Crappie Jon* F. 3.79lbs Bag:

There were 3 Limits brought to the scales. 9 out of 14 anglers weighed at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 20 Bass weighed in totalling a whopping 32.54 lbs. This gave way to an avg. weight of 1.63lbs.
So in summary, The Fu-man took won again. Delaware this time of year has always been good to SJHT. The kid Slim Shady is making his presence felt for the second week in a row. I got my eyes on you!!
Next up is the SASSAFRAS RIVER down in Georgetown, MD. Good luck to those in hunt of those Big Girls.
Tightlines,

I know with certain bodies of waters....timing is everything but I'm open to proposing our future Tournaments for the month of March\April be down in Delaware.... LOL!!!
Man..I was thinking about you guys\gals so bad on Saturday that I refused to call anybody to check on the results.
I'm quite sure the Sassafras will be just as good....
Congrats to Jackson and to that Slim Shady character.... For some reason, Why do I feel we've been set up? I think it's KVD underneath that Mask that he's wearing. Go figure....outfishing his Big Uncle B-Hopper and I'm quite sure going to school and talking smack about it.
BTW... Fantastic Job Rob for the pics, tale of tape, and running of the Tournament. Thanks to anyone else that lent a hand in this interesting Tournament. Since I was not there, please do share your day on the Lake synopis\experience with me and the rest as I would enjoy hearing from others.
Priceless....

WTG Jackson and Nick on the first and second bid. And to everyone else for a nice turnout for DE and a decent total weight. I'm in for Lums every April BN!
Well... it was a day filled with a little excitement and a lot of heartbreak. Around 7:30, I pull in to an area I had been eyeing and started working a piece of plastic in the think stuff. About 50 feet down the bank I flip it in to an area that clearly will be difficult to land a fish from but it looks extremely fishy. Of course it gets slammed and a few seconds later it snapped. Leader broke right below the knot. Damn that was a big one lost. After literally crying for about 10 minutes, I continue down the bank, picking up my first keeper. A pound and a halfer and on the board. Fast forward to 11 or so and pick up my second and third keepers on the same tree branch. I have 3 in the well and feeling pretty good despite the awful beginning.
I keep working the same area with various baits and finally get picked up again. The line goes right immediately, about 10 feet down and across a big log and snap. This time the leader broke right at the lure. Lost another big one. Some anglers may have heard some expletives following that failure and at least one kid now knows the work F**K. Oops.
After getting some short fish that wouldn't help, I went back to the original spot and that's when I got to see Nick pick up his lunker just about 100 yards away from me. Another shot to the heart as we were jockeying for spots along this short area. A few minutes earlier and I may have been there instead. Oh, the what if's. As always though, I am just happy to catch anything and enjoy just being out there.
Thanks to everyone who helped someone else on Saturday morning. That's what makes this club great and run as smooth as it does. BTW, fine job by Rob with handling the afternoon part of the tourney despite having a crushing headache.
Took a few pics with my new camera, so here they are...
Or not. Dropbox seems to suck now. Working on adding them somewhere else. Photobucket it is...

Congrats Jackson & Nick & to everyone else who caught fish. I started my day out fishing to the right by the walking bridge and had the 1st fish in the livewell in the first 15-20 minutes into the tournament. And the 2nd fish about a 1/2 hour later. Not long after that I lost my battery to the front trolling motor, I swapped out batteries only to realize I wouldn't be able to run my live well the way it was set up. So, as hard as it was I had to put Eminem in the front of the boat and use the back electric motor for a little bit when I noticed that battery was starting to get weak, now I'm thinking I'm pretty much screwed, had to save enough battery to keep the fish alive, so no more trolling motor. So needless to say the last 4 to 5 hours we had to fish using the 9.9 & I gotta say with the 10mph wind it was really a pain in the you know what trying to run the boat. Nick did not disappoint. He did a good job up in the front. First time I had the small boat out this year, guess its time for new batteries or a new charger. Sorry Brian M. for the shot to the heart, if it wasnt for my batteries being dead I probably would have never stopped in that spot, but as I was riding by it looked like a good spot for me to stop so I could have the wind direct the boat for me. |

Thanks uncle Brian!, I think I forgot how to fish too lol, I couldn't get on the keepers all day, like I caught 8 11"ers in 8 casts at one point lol. That fish caught me by suprise lol Thanks for the pics Brian M., my old tin cans come a long way, and I need to drop some lbs lol

No worries Brian. It was cool to see him catch it (and the other one earlier that I forgot about). I just wish he slowed it down for me to get an action pic. I didn't even have time to grab the camera and before fish was in the livewell. Quality netting by the way!
Thanks B, Mike & Dan. It takes some nice shots outdoors. Most of the pics are from halfway across the lake! I'll probably keep taking them while we are out there as long as no one has any issues with it. Don't want anyone to think I am trying to steal their techniques or lure choices. |

Thanks Rob. The blurring of things not in perfect focus makes it look pretty sweet. Done completely by the camera of course. No editing at all! |

Congrats to Jackson,Slim Shady, and Brian nice going guys. Saw Brian Basshopper catch hsi first keeper by the small walkway bridge, within 20 min after we both pulled into the small cove, I said oh boy I better get going. After pulling out of the cove started fishing just around the corner and picked up my first keeper 3.30lbs.! Moved about like everyone else and got my 2nd keeper. and that was all she wrote. Had a great time on the water with all our club members. But like BN said keep an eye out for that slim guy !!!LOL Lums Pond Rules! I want to hear Jacksons day on the water!!!LOL
