It's Official. The Dog Days of Summer are here
On Saturday, August 01, 2015 17 SJHT anglers came out to see what the overpass and lake rejuvenation was all about at Cooper River Park. for our 13th event of the season.
Having been on vaca and hiatus over the last month, I for one was eager to wet a line and see my fellow SJHT anglers. On a day that was to crown our 2015 SJHT Tag Team Champion and a time to break bread afterwards,

Teams came out and battled till the very end.
As Rowdy Roddy Piper would say, "We can Do this Right Here!!!"
Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to this years 2015 SJHT Newly crowned Cooper River Tag Team Champions Derrick Bray and Rashawn *BN06* for winning this event with a combined weight of 6 Bass weighing 8.11lbs.
For individual point standings, Jiggen Den took 1st place with 3 Bass weighing 5.09lbs. 2nd Place was won by my partner Derrick B. with 3 Bass weighing 4.17lbs. 3rd Place was won by BN06 with 3 Bass weighing 3.94lbs after a .50lb dead fish penalty. Overall Lunker was won by SJHT Tournament Director Rob *Ram1212* M. going 2.45lbs.
What can I say? Bravo Men and Thanks to Jackson\Dan and the rest of the SJHT crew for allowing Derrick and I to celebrate a bit. I feel like pig in horse sh*t!!! In all the years of holding this club event, never won one. Mucho Gracias!

Weigh Station pics and surrounding area:

Barricaded\Boat Off Limit area:

Summary: The 2015 SJHT Tag Team Event was a total grind for most. There was a total of 16 Bass weighed in totalling 24.06lbs. That gave way to a 1.50lb avg. catch. There were 3 Limits caught. 8 out of 17 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. Big ups to Gaetanos Pizza and Steaks of Pennsauken for delivery to the boat ramp. Food was excellent! As our event ended, there was a partial water rescue as one of the Yacht club boaters flipped over and had to swim to shore.
See pic of vessel being towed back in as we BS at the ramp and I caught this.

All in All, the weather was excellent and there was plenty of bait fish popping the surface at the start. As the day went on, there were plenty of pleasure scullers and yacht club boaters taking it all in.
Next week is Stone Tavern. Hope to see members there.

Congrats Den on 1st place overall, BN and Derrick on the belts, and Rob on linker! Good job men on figuring them out! I for one could not. Had my first bite out near the railroad trestle snap my line on the hook set and one other bite (short) on a crank bait with about 10 minutes to go. |

Thanks Kyle & Troop. I had 5 total not including one that threw my jig at me. Troop I wanted to go back by the train trestle but was not sure I could make it there in my boat? Congrats to BN & Derrick on those belts! Awesome achievement guys! Congrats to Derrick on taking second and BN on third place. Way to go Rob with lunker. Thought there would have been a bigger lunker caught. but hey all the big girls are probably on the other side of the Rt 130 bridge!LOL

I thought there was a DQ yesterday I just hope if I get stuck again I get to Bring my fish to the scale and get points and don't get disqualified like I did at DOD a few years ago.I don't know why we bother having rules I know its not a big deal And it doesn't have anything to do with John but wtf

Thanks guys. Congrats to Den, Derrick and BN.
Brian, John's fish was simply weighed in for the sake of weighing. It did not count for points as discussed when he weighed in.

Those points are from DOD. The standings have not been updated from Cooper yet.

ROFLMAO!!! Thanks Bama.
Caught 2 on that GY 5" GreenPumkin w/Chart tail and 1 on the watermellon Red\Flake Smallie Beaver. Pretty stayed in the main body of Cooper River.
Unbeknown to me...Derrick went to the promise land where I knew I couldn't get my boat to the skinny water. I just concentrated where I was getting little pick ups here and there. Outside of those areas, I really didn't get bit elsewhere.
Thanks for the congrats guys... Now I have to find an official place for the hardware.

with the belt extender... LOL!!! They fit perfectly!!!
I tell ya...the weather for Sundays' Stone Tavern T. is looking pretty good. A couple of cooler days and slight showers beforehand should really have those fish biting. Not too mention the various depth changes in store for us.
