Upcoming NorthEast River, MD Tournament
BigNasty06
Guys,
Just a head up and future knowledge for fishing out of Anchor Marine. I recieved a phone call earlier on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, regarding notification of our upcoming Tournament and the recommended usage of there livewell and bass release system we're expected to use.

There are 2 other tournaments blasting off at 5:30am and 6:30am. Ours is on target for 6am, however there is a Powerboat event beginning Friday night into Saturday night. So..the parking lot may appear a little full compared to normal but we should be okay. Anchor Marine has requested the other clubs stagger there launch and weigh in times. This is all new to me.

Going to need 1 or possible 2 members to assist with the weigh-in near the ramp. They have a holding tank and release mechanism which we're to use. I'll be bringing a small portable table to place the scale up on. I'm hoping Rendell will bring a spare 12volt battery so we can connect our scale up to just in case there is no other power source.

Note: I've attached a printable Maryland DNR form to read and fill out. Please bring with you on day of tournament.

Note2: Once Club is blasting off at 5:30am..there weigh in is at 1:30pm.

Ours is still at 2pm.

The 3rd Club is blasting off at 6:30am with there weigh in being at 2:30pm.

So before pulling your boat out the waters, try to Moor up to the floating docks and bring your bags of fish to the scale which should be setup in accordance with what I stated earlier.

Hope to see a good turnout for last regular season tournament.

Would love to fish this last one but I am out! This is gonna be mass confusion. Not for me. Good luck everyone. Hopefully next year we fish another body of water or make it on weekday again! Anchor marine don't care about the huge crowd, because they are making money and thats what it all about! If they know there are going to be a number of tournaments that day they should notify clubs involved so they could make changes if they want to. Just my opinion. this sucks

If anyone wants someone to tag along with them to help out with there boat launch, getting the truck, weighing in etc. and I'll pay launch fee PM me. If not no big deal.
It's gonna be a fun out there especially coming back for weight in.

Hey Den. I wouldn't worry about the boating traffic. I've been there when there were 2 big tournaments plus the normal club and weekenders, and it really wasn't bad.

To add what to what Troop said, the other tournaments have listed 20 & 14 boats. So I don't think it will be that bad.

If the battery I have in the garage holds a charge I'll bring it just encase we need it.

Thx John.

Guys,
Finally getting a chance to chime in....Let's not over think this. We've been at Anchor Marine where there was way more boat traffic.

Anchor is not gonna really turn away boaters/anglers. Heck between the normal local guys not fishing any tournaments and the few smaller clubs that likes to use the ramp as a convenience, we should be fine.

Hope to see a nice turnout for last regular season tournament.
