Welcome back to SJHT 17th and Final installment of the regular season at NorthEast River, MD.
Today, 10 SJHT members came out to do battle at the Mighty NorthEast River, MD out of Anchor Marine.

Bad Arse Rig for bad Arse Boat!!!

Not shying away from the other 2 Clubs launching and the PowerBoats already moored up at the Naughty Goose, SJHT anglers patiently waited our turn to put in and perform the new Weigh-In Procedures at the end.
Let me just say, this year has been a pleasure to hang out and fish with some of the greatest guys and guest we've had. A big Congrats goes out to Runner up the last couple of years Rob *Thank You Mr. Jackson* M. for winning this year SJHT 2016 Angler of the Year.
Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to this years 2016 SJHT AOY Champ Rob *It must be the Shirt* M. for taking 1st place with 3 Bass going 7.74lbs. 2nd Place and Lunker was won by Bob Van Sciver with 1 Bass weighing 5.07lbs. 3rd Place was won by Joe *1 Bass too short* Rendell H. with 2 Bass going 4.58lbs. Congrats men on coming out and playing down on the Flats.

Other Angler's catch's and Highlights:
John *Bama* B. Bag of Bass:

Brian *SubFish* M. Bag of Bass:

Layne's bag of Bass:

Troops Bag:

New Anchor Marine Weigh-In Area and oxgenated Holding Tanks.

Note: Not pictured but one can get a glimpse of the Oxygenated and Release Slide in the Powerboat Ramp\Rig Shot in the distance with the Blue Tent and Green slide for release of Bass back into water. Opposite side of Weigh In Area.....

Summary: We had a total of 10 members come out for our Final 2016 Regular season Tournament today. 7 out of the 10 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 3 Limits weighed in. 14 Bass were caught in total giving way to 30.08 lbs . That gave an avg. of 2.15lbs per bass.
What can I say? Once heck of a Regular season. Congrats to Rob, Bob, and Rendell for taking home the purse. Thanks to all of the SJHT anglers for coming out and testing out Things to come at Anchor Marine, MD.
Note: To Self, with the new weigh in procedures, holding tanks, and oxgenated LiveWell, Anchor Marine is imposing a new $2.00 per boat fee for those holding a tournament at there location . This is supposely to offset any expenses related to the pumps, oxgenated devices, and Release Mechanism that the Maryland DNR is allowing Marinas like Anchor Marine. I was told to Read there Website. More to come as I was told.......
[b]Next up is our 2016 SJHT Bass Classic to be held at D.O.D. Lake and the Squan in about 3 weeks.
Thanks again to all!!!!
Tightlines,

Congrats Rob on AOY!! nice impressive finish and year for that matter! Congrats on holding on to lunker of year too!! Nice chunk Bob congrats on lunker of day. Congrats to Big Joe on 2 place. Sorry I did not make tour. but was nice to see members on water. Fished with a buddy of mine. Launched out of a private marina. Ran out to Susquehanna and we each caught one fish. congrats to all the fish catchers today. I guess I should have fished our tour but thought the crowd would have been to much for me. Oh well
See ya at Classic

Congrats Rob on a helluva year! Way to consistently find fish. Congrats Bob on lunker! That was a beauty and the reason we come down here. Way to go Rendell and thanks for freeing my coffee cup...LOL...It was a nice day out there not too hot and the boat traffic was really alot less than I expected. I guess I'll have to come back for another round of Maryland bass next year since I finally weighed a limit...LOL |

Thanks Guys! It was a great year for me. Not sure how to explain it, just everything went right. Right place at the right time almost every week. So many fish that should have come off but some how didn't. I never cared about winning the tournament, just wanted to catch fish. The wins were a really fun added bonus.
On Saturday I think I experienced when they say "when the tide gets just right". I had 1 fish early, 7:30ish and then nothing until 10:30. I caught 4 keeper fish from 10:30 to 11am, culling twice. It was a fun half hour with 4 keepers, 2 shorts and one small keeper that came off. After that it died again for me. |

My first year in this club was a pleasure. Best club I have been in for sure. I won't be splitting time with any other clubs next year and I'll have my gas engine ready for the Maryland events next year. Thanks BN and see everyone at the classic! |

Congrats rob on a great season! Can't argue with that consistency. Thanks again to BN, Joe Reed, and the rest that keeps this club what it is. I had a decent season only for fishing 7 t's this year. This season flew by. See everyone at the classic

Thanks Jackson & Dan.
I would say you had a great season Dan considering so few tournaments.
No pressure for the Classic, Jackson. That 2-day event is always cruel to me for some reason so my expectations are curbed a bit. Like the rest of the season, I'll be happy just to catch some fish...and being able to walk on Monday, haha. |
